Priest Field is the ideal place to host a retreat for your youth group, campus ministry, or other youth event! Of course, youth groups are more than welcome to book retreats in the same way that most of our adult groups do (rooms and meals in All Hallows Hall), but the cost of this option can make it prohibitive to many groups. Therefore, we want to offer an option that features our bunkhouses and DIY kitchens. With a wide variety of amenities at an extremely competitive price, you have the flexibility and freedom to create an experience for your youth that is truly extraordinary (and within the budget!).
We have two bunkhouses available, each containing bathrooms and showers.
Casa de los Angeles contains 12 bunk-beds (24 total bunks) as well as two double/full size beds in a separate room for chaperones. St. Benedict contains 7 bunk-beds (14 total bunks) as well as a large meeting area that can be configured with tables/chairs at your discretion. This large space can also be used as a sleeping area for people who bring cots, air mattresses, or sleeping bags (a limited number of roll-away beds are available on request). Linens and towels are provided.
A 1:8 adult to youth ratio is required for activities at Priest Field; please keep in mind that this includes bunkhouses as well. If some chaperones require separate accommodations in the cabins or All Hallows Hall, they will be charged the standard rate. Please contact Priest Field for this information.
Youth groups using the St. Benedict kitchen bring and prepare their own food.
St. Benedict contains a small kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, etc.) that can accommodate groups up to about 15.
All Souls Chapel:
This chapel will accommodate up to 100 people. All linens and materials needed for Mass/Adoration are provided.
St. Anne Conference Room:
This multi-purpose room is ideal for hosting breakout sessions and meetings.
Trails, Meadows, and Outdoor Prayer Spaces:
Priest Field has 39 acres of beautifully maintained trails, open meadows, gardens, ponds, and the scenic Opequon Creek. All of these are at the disposal of youth groups for prayer, games, exploration, scavenger hunts, and whatever else you can think of! There is also an outdoor fire pit (materials available upon request), a basketball hoop, and outdoor Stations of the Cross.
General Youth Policy:
-All youth and chaperones are held to a high standard of respect and consideration. Other groups are usually on retreat at Priest Field for a time of quiet, restful spiritual growth. While it is fine for youth to make jubilant noise in appropriate areas (out in the woods, in bunkhouses, etc.), we ask that youth do not disturb others on retreat.
-Youth groups must have at least one adult chaperone for every 8 youth in attendance.
-Youth may not be unaccompanied on Priest Field grounds at any time. Chaperones are required to accompany youth in all locations at all times, and ensure that others on retreat are not disturbed. Pastoral center staff reserve the option of asking any group to leave if adult chaperones are unable to effectively manage the group’s behavior.
-Bunk rooms are single-gender accommodations. Girls should not be in boys sleeping areas at any time, or vice versa.
-Diocesan Safe Environment policies are to be followed at all times.
-Youth should not enter All Hallows Hall, with the exception of St. Anne Conference Room and San Pedro Kitchen, which should be accessed from the exterior doors only.
